So you want to know how the bard came to this world. Well I know tales of that too.
You see he stayed for a time in the halls of the gods, lover to the Goddess of Trickery. It was during this time he learned the magics and arts of the gods. Well you see this sat none to well with the God of Despair, and he plotted to kill the Bard. He disguised himself as the Goddess of trickery, and led the bard away from her keep. He lured the bard to the cauldron to tried to drown him inside. Three times he dunked the bard under, and each time he pulled the bard up, the bard spit out the essence from within the cauldron. This essence fell to the ground, and evaporated, giving to man the arts of the bard, poetry, prose, and music. With these things in the realm of man, the God of Despair began to weaken as the sounds filled them with hope. With the god weakened the bard escaped and ran back to the keep. To protect him the goddess of trickery hid him in the womb of a common thief, an elf woman from the sewers of Ellinost. There he waited a year and a day to be born into our world. And so he came into the world, but not whole, the time he spent in the womb, and the trauma of being born left him with no memory of who he was, but the arts and magics of the gods remained within his heart, ready to fight the despair within the world. It would reside there, untill the time was right...
